Inkgard supports any inkjet and laser printer regardless of the manufacturer as long as it is supported by Windows Versions 2000, XP, Vista or System 7.
Ingard allows users to achieve controlled ink and toner savings of up to 75%.
The appropriate level of savings is subject to user preference and based on your perception of satisfactory output.
Larger savings will cause some reduction in optical density. We recommend you develop your own savings pattern for
various output classes (photos/images, letters/marketing material, email/web pages) or simply set the control gauge
to a default floor level and adjust as needed. To take full advantage of Ingard, we recommend settings close to 75%,
which allows you to print with one cartridge what otherwise would take as many as four!
Your ink and toner consumption is directly proportional to the number of drops or toner particles your printer spreads on media.
Different output types cause more or less consumable use. The Inkgard calculator allows you to enter your estimates on the number
of sheets of three different output types (documents, photos, web pages) and the savings level you would like to set for each type.
Savings are then calculated by using your average values of consumption and cost per ml/gr of ink or toner.
Pigmented inks can achieve more effective surface coverage than dye based inks.
Therefore you may be able to select higher savings when using pigmented inks.
Output printed with dye based ink will require more ink to achieve the same optical density perception vs. pigmented inks.
Inkgard works with dot-on-demand inkjet and laser printers.
